Published 16 March 2011 Press Release: KinetX, Inc. KinetX Achieves CMMI Maturity Level 3 KinetX, Inc.’s software and systems integration projects in Tempe, AZ have achieved the U.S. Department of Defense’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI) CMMI Maturity Level 3. The rigorous assessment, based on SEI’s Standard CMMI Based Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) Class A, was led by Software Quality Center’s (SQC) SEI - Carnegie Mellon Certified Lead Assessor, Kris Puthucode.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Puthucode said, “This reinforces that process improvement and CMMI programs based improvement can be all-pervasive ultimately ensuring consistency and standardization in processes, and this achievement is a significant one since it makes KinetX join an elite brand of fewer than 1000 organizations worldwide that have achieved CMMI Maturity Level 3.

“Adopting the SEI’s CMMI, which is the major US DoD standard for software and systems integration organizations, demonstrates KinetX’ capability to use best practices in software development to achieve better quality products and services, thus enabling customer satisfaction and to take on critical and major work in their area of specialization which is primarily aerospace and satellite communication technology.  KinetX is the first of all small or medium sized companies in the Valley of the Sun (the greater Phoenix area) to achieve this coveted benchmark.  We are happy to be part of their quest for pursuing best practices and to foster a culture of excellence.”

Kjell Stakkestad, KinetX’ President and CEO, commented, “The CMMI Maturity Level 3 certification represents a significant step in KinetX’ ability to compete for, attain, manage and execute development efforts of all sizes, for both the commercial and government markets and demonstrates to our customers that KinetX is committed to continuous improvement and excellence in our work.”
